Chowlings are a common species of whimsical shape-shifting spirit creatures. They are born as small beasts that can then transform at will into other creatures, whether it be into other animals, or more humanoid figures like humans. Despite being spirits, Chowlings have adapted extremely well to human society. The extent at which a Chowling will interact with the modern world varies by each individual, but for the most part, Chowlings live their lives similarly to the average human. Some Chowlings enjoy the human aspects of their lives so much that they choose to live entirely in their humanoid form, while some prefer the isolation of nature and the feeling of leaves beneath their paws.
